I moved in to the Dakota May 2006. My lease is about to end and I can't imagine staying any longer than necessary.
I've moved apartments because I had TERRIBLE noisy upstairs neighbors and they office staff (the good ones) couldn't evict the girl because the security patrol was lying about the time that I was calling (I callat 1230am and the security patrol writes the report for 3am and said there was no noise).
The next apartment was in pretty poor condition and it took weeks for anyone to come and fix anything (leaking sink, door knobs, door locks, windows, etc.) The neighbors below me were loud, but tolerable, but they were evicted for some reason. Then the new kid downstairs moved in and had a Rumble outside my front door (all doors are on the bottom level). This kid and his buddies were beating a girl on the pavement, leaving blood stains. Lots of underaged drinking going on in the "party apartment" down there; lots of sleepless nights, and the office did nothing. Didn't even request a police report for the incident. That event was in December 2006.
The party house downstairs continues and I call the security patrol all the time, call the office all the time, and no one does anything.
During the terrible snow storms of 2006 the sidewalks weren't shoveled and the snow plow blocked my car in so I couldn't leave.
The new staff (they arrived late 2006) is awful; they are inconsiderate, rude, and don't do anything helpful. In fact, I've gone in to pick up a package and two girls were talking, totally ignored me and I had to get my package the next day.
There is not enough parking. Even though I rent a carport, some other people park in it. The grounds are nice, but too much tenant trash goes un-noticed.
I had a problem with my water bill almost tripling in price for no reason.
Cops around all the time and tenants are inconsiderate of others.
Do yourself a favor and find another place to live. My new rent rate if I were to stay went up 85$

I have to agree on the ladies in the office. They were so rude and when my upstairs neighbors called about noise, it was documented in my renters file and they threatened to evict me. When I filed a complaint (or attempted to) they wouldn't take me seriously and security lied in my case too. They came around at 7pm and filed a complaint saying it was 11:30pm. My car was vandalized. I know who did it and they didn't care. I asked for things to get fixed and it took them forever to get work requests done or done at all. The hot tub was always broken. The pool was supposed to be heated too. Overall experience at this place is about negitive 10.
