Upon moving here in October of '06, we noticed several warning signs to come. I write this review out of optimism not (too) bitter feelings. In October, the main fitness facility was broken into. Bummer, huh' We were told that the access lock to the door would be replaced so we could resume using the fitness room 24/7. That wasn't the case...We were told that the management would have to get bids to fix the lock on the fitness room door, and we could only use the room during business hours. This review was written in late May '07...Still no word on 24/7 access as promised.

As for piece of mind, be careful and make sure you have a good alarm on your vehicle, or it just might be stolen.(broken into and ransacked if lucky) I know that cars can be stolen anywhere, but it just disturbs me more when it happens so frequently where you live. So much for "on-site" security, which Dakota doesn't have. If your car does breakdown, don't worry, Dakota will NOT tow anything away. So much for a safe place for parking cars. Dakota will happily place a flyer on your apartment door to "warn" you for cars being broken into or stolen. ( 3 notices on our door since October)

Be careful and don't settle for the "hood" that is Dakota Apartments!
