I did a lot of apt. searching before deciding on the Fairways at raccoon Creek and found that it is all relative. For the most part you get what you pay for. I got in on a special, and have to say that $599 for an 800 sq ft one-bedroom apt is very reasonable.
As for the "land mines", it is not the management but rather the lazy dog owners fault. Having a dog in an apt is difficult because of this, but the alturnative is for them to not accept dogs. As a dog owner, it is not easy to find a decent apt.
As for the parking, it really does stink, and if you don't have a garage you are up ---- creek. But the idiots who park beside fire-hydrants deserve to get their cars towed, especially when there is a car parked on the curb behind my garage, I can not get out and waiting for a tow truck makes me late to work.
As for the office staff, I think that everyone is friendly and very helpful. I was told when I moved in that they would have a couple things fixed, but no one came to fix them until I called and reminded them. I can't fault them however, becuase there is only about 4-5 of them and hundreds of apts. I know I'd have a hard time remembering everything all the time.
As for the noise, I really don't hear anything but the usual apt stuff; such as people in the stair wells and front doors closing. You have to realize if you live in an apartment, condo or townhouse you are going to have some noise, it's just that simple. If you have a problem with noise, you shouldn't be living in close quarters with your neighbors.
I personally don't like the windows. They are great for light, but they are not well-insulated and probably not up to code, since babies and kids have fallen out them. But that was my mistake for not paying attention to them when I visited the model.
