Cold!

I rented an apartment that was located above three garages and would have to say that was the biggest mistake. The floor vibrates every time the garage doors opens, not to mention the noise it makes when they open as well. The other drawback would be that the windows are poorly insulated and all of them would leak a significant amount of water when rain/snow hit them. Also, the winter air that comes through them is unbelievable. During the winter months my Xcel bill would be around $120 and it was never above 65 in my apartment. (The heat was left on low during the days, since I was not home, so it was not a result of heating during the days.)
New management took over last fall and our water/waste water bills increased at least $15 per month. The new management insisted that the previous property company was under charging tenants, however, I find it hard to believe that one person who is not home except in the evening and gone a lot of weekends, would have a water bill of $45. I paid $15 per month at another Denver apartment that had meters per each apartment, so I firmly believe this was serious price gouging.
My neighbors are wonderful people and respectful of those around them. Regardless, the floors and walls are so very thin that I knew when they woke, used the bathroom, etc. They also knew when I was sick with the stomach flu. Not something you willingly share.
While the office staff is ever changing, the maintenance guys are the best and the most pleasant of all the staff to work with.
Overall I like living here. However, I wouldn't recommend an apartment unless it was a top floor apartment.
