Worst Apartment-seriously don't move in!

Ok first of all please listen and don't sign any kind of lease here!
My husband and I have had so many problems since we have moved in here, it is unbelievable.
Noise- You can hear everything! We lived in a first floor 2 bedroom, and we could hear the people above us do anything. It sounds like they were always dropping furniture and stamping around...this can be typical of an apartment but this was bad! The noise outside is even worse. People just walking up the stairs sounded like people were banging on your walls. Not only could you hear it but it shook the whole apartment. There were always people partying and a billion kids were always outside screaming and yelling...sometimes until 11 at night!
Heating- The heater went out a good 10 times in the year that we were here. All of a sudden it would just blow out cold air. The staff came quickly about 2 out of 10 times...the other times it took them days to get here. We were freezing!!! As far as our A/C, it worked ok but only reached the living room and the other two rooms stayed hot! The heaters were right next to the dining table and were really loud. You could hear and feel the air in your face while you are eating dinner. Also, t
he patio door had bad weather stripping so any heat would go right outside.
Doors- All of the ones on the inside either don't close all the way or lock and some of them have flat out fallen off. The patio door does not even have a deadbolt lock but instead has the same kind of lock as on the bathroom doors. And to top it off the "French" Patio doors don't even appear to be closed all the way from the outside. Someone could easily use a credit card to pull open these doors! The blinds for these doors are always getting in the way and have been broken several times just by opening the door.
Appliances- Every appliance is a piece of junk. The dishwasher barely cleans anything on the top shelf. It is loud as ****. The microwave is tiny and never heats up anything. It takes 2 minutes to melt cheese! The fridge freezes food too easily no matter what setting it is on. The oven is freakin old! The timer on it doesn't work and doesn't work with baking instructions. The washer and dryer not only are old but also don't fit much! The dryer has shrunk every piece of clothing that has gone into it, even on the no heat setting. It never shuts off automatically so the clothes always have static cling. So not only do the washer and dryer suck but the location is worse. They are right behind the dining table which is probably the dumbest location I have ever heard of.
Lights- We have replaced every light in this apartment 6 times! Expect every light to go out in at least 2-3 weeks from putting a new bulb in. We resorted to using our own lamps for light. All the lights except for the one over the dining table have pull chains...which are ugly and make the place feel like a motel. The lights always flicker when they are on...it really is freaky sometimes. The light over the dining table was really really low when we first moved in so we had to raise it in order to make the space usable.
Parking- We got lucky and lived on the side that no one parks on. So there was always parking. The bad part about it was that our cars were right by Yosemite making it easier for someone to steal or vandalize them. But parking was the only good thing...not that there are many people living here to compete with anyways!
Grounds Maintainence- The exterior looked like ****. We had a broken gutter laying in front of our porch for months. No one bothered to replace it or take the old one away. The trash problem was horrible. They pushed to have you put it out at certain times on certain days but they would pick it up late if at all. So trash was always sitting outside! Make sure you watch out when stepping out of your apartment for the maintainence guy on an ATV that is whizzing by looking like he is working. I swear the maintainence staff just plays around all day. During times where it would snow, no snow removal would be done and would become icy in certain spots where the building blocks the sun. Also...I hate that d*mn round-a-bout at the entrance. No one would actually use it the way it was supposed to be used and many times people would almost collide. None of the bottom level porches have railing. So it is free range to hang out on anybodys porch. People have done this to us! It also feels like your grill or dish is free for anyone to steal.
The Leak- Yes our apartment flooded!!!! We had a leak coming from somewhere right outside of our kitchen that spread through the entire dining area. It took the staff 6 days to pay any attention to us. The first time they came out, they sent a punk kid who said he would ask his supervisor and then ended up not coming back. Days later finally they sent a carpet cleaning company over which vacuumed and "cleaned" up the mess. But of course the leak came back. Finally they tore apart the walls in the hallway to find that it was coming from the people above us. So they stopped the leak, ripped up the carpet, and left a huge fan to dry it up (for 2 days...). And they would not compensate us in any way for it and were very rude about the situation as if it was our fault!
So overall the staff is rude and has turned over twice since we have been here. Summer you are a b*tch! They didn't care when we intially looked or signed the lease and they never cared while we were there until the very end! The apartments themselves have a lot of problems and everything is broken! The complex is trashy and most the people that live here are too. It makes you feel like you are living in the bad part of Aurora when you are really in Lone Tree one of the richest areas! The mall being so close really does not make up for the living conditions. Don't buy into their scams!

You're exactly right on every point, right down to having replace the lighbulbs all the time! I thought it was because I was using the basic Walgreens kind! This place is total crap and I cannot believe they're only 10 years old. I know of 70 year old NYC apartments that are better than this! I hope you are living in a much better place now. I know I am!
