A true review of Tanemara

I have been living in Tanemara Apartments since last year and what I will say is a very true review of how this apartment complex is. First off, the location to the foothills of the Rockies is great and that was my main motivation for moving here. There's easy access to local shopping stores and RTD.

As for the apartments themselves, the management here has just left and they were completely useless with regard to managing this facility. There is more dog ---- in the grass here than you would see on the property of a kennel. I partially blame the management for the animal feces, however I place far more blame on the white trash tenants that are too lazy to clean up after their animals. The management has horribly failed at enforcing the rules. Tenants patios are loaded with crap, the insides of garages look like the back yard of Sanford & Son. People frequently leave their bags of trash outside their doorways for days (like one of my neighbors) because they are too lazy to walk it to the dumpster. Some apartment patios and garages really have the appearance of what you might see in a trailer park. That is not an exaggeration. There was a mattress overhanging on a third floor balcony for at least two months!

What you may have read in other reviews is true, there is frequently a police presence here and from what I learned, the main reason is domestic disturbances (couples fighting). There is a number of young adults living here and some like to have frequent parties. There were broken beer bottles outside my apartment for a number of months (complaints were ignored) and the banging at 2AM is frequent and loud enough to warrant calling the police. I will say though that I have never heard of any damage to cars or apartment break-ins since I have been here. (It is true though, there is an abandoned green sedan with a broken window that has not moved since last year)

This past winter we got hit with a number of big snow storms and the maintenance staff was inundated for several weeks. For the most part, the tenants were patient with the staff because there was too much snow to handle. Three to four weeks after the snow storms were gone, there was still large mounds of snow blocking needed walkways and the ice that formed in the lower walkways and parking lots became so treacherous, people were falling and getting injured. The management said the maintenance was going to remove the ice, but it was ignored and the walkways were skating rinks from January to early March. The management did absolutely nothing, probably to safe money.

The maintenance staff does respond to service calls within 24 hours (I tend to think that is emphasized because its a selling point in their advertising). Interior service calls are the one thing management and maintenance uphold. I would guess that the maintenance is either understaffed to handle the exterior workload or they are just not willing to performing all the work necessary to make this a better complex overall.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this facility at about "4". I would venture to say that about one-half of the tenants of Tanemara Apartments are just "White Trash Americans" that live here because the rent is fairly low. Hey, I'm not trying to sound high and mighty like I'm someone better, but "White Trash" really defines many of these people living here. There are quite a few very decent people that live here as well and I sympathize with them because they are the people that took the time to write reviews of this apartment complex. I follow the simple rules, I don't cause problems and I respect my neighbors. I wish my neighbors did the same for me. When my lease is up, I am NOT renewing. I will gladly pay higher rent somewhere else and hopefully live among a slightly higher class of people.
