Definite issues, but not THAT bad...

What are some issues to look for'
In spite of having room for your own washer and dryer, it's a VERY tight squeeze to fit anything but a stacker in the laundry area. Be prepared to have to buy new power connectors and exhausts for any full-size laundry machines.
The AC might as well not even be there. These are the weakest air conditioners you'll ever find and on a 90 degree day you won't even know they're on. If you're viewing apartments during the late spring or summer you'll notice that 90% of the apartments have their windows open and a half dozen fans going instead. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but on summer days the apartments are like an oven and were enough to make me want to move on several occasions. The AC technically "works" so maintenance won't be able to do anything to help you either.
It seems like half of the residents are under the impression that the pool and hot-tub are a substitute for a baby sitter.
Noise usually isn't much of a problem, but that varies based upon how many bedrooms you have and your neighbors. I've never personally had many problems, but I've seen 5-6 Littleton police suburbans with their lights going and teens seemingly being escorted off in handcuffs. It just seems to be the luck of the draw because my neighbors have always been quiet. I think the multiple bedroom apartments are going to be quieter simply because of the increased cost to obtain one. The hallways between apartments do seem to have a loud echo, but the walls between apartments are relatively soundproof. The floors in the living room seem to be relatively thick, but in the bedrooms sound seems to carry through the walls from above or below.
The main complaint I have would be the previous staff's lack of organization (which is no longer and issue) and the lack of general respect you'll recieve from the community. This includes having random late 80's cars who LOVE to swing their doors right into your without a care. I bought a new car last year and recieved a host of door dings and even a 1/4 inch deep gash within a month. If you have a new car I suggest parking it as far from a building as possible. Having parking places occupied by cars that haven't moved in months are blessings in disguise as when you park next to them at least you'll likely only be dinged on one side instead of both. Lastly, you'll also notice people will simply let their young children run free to throw rocks at cars, sit in the street, and play in the jacuzzi. This isn't a terrible thing necessarily, but having seen the jacuzzi turn into a playpen and several children nearly plowing into cars on their bikes, I suppose it IS an issue.
While this sounds somewhat negative, in general you'll ALWAYS get the good side of things when looking for aparments. I figure I might as give you the whole story. In general the Turf club still has a lot of nice features and ammenities, and you can occasionally luck into a REALLY good deal on a 2 bedroom. The area is convenient to both Santa Fe (and the lightrail) as well as the southwest plaza area of Littleton.
