Westlake is overpriced for what you get. We've been here over two years..our golf course view is the only good thing about this place. The first few months we thought is was a great place to live..THEN we got new neighbors on top, on the back and on both sides. We've never met them in person.

Now we are in noise central.

( I know this is going to be really long ..
but if you can find the time you might want to read it..or print it.)

Here goes...


The people above us have a dog that they let pee on their balcony...so of course it comes down on ours. If you call the office..they will send them a letter.
If the neighbors are making too much noise they tell you to call security ..that will show up two hours later..lol..so of course they've stopped by then.
So nothing gets done. The noise from the people above us and their dog will wake my husband and I up at all hours of the night.
Then we have the couple that come home from the bars and have knock down drag out fights.
NOW FOR THE STRAW THAT BROKE THIS CAMELS BACK!


We also had someone playing a bugle at different hours of the day and night and so the police show up and bang on OUR door in the middle of the night because one of the "other" new neighbors 'said' it was us making the noise.

Next day we got an extremely RUDE letter from the managment stating that "they had received numerous complaints about loud noises coming from our apartment.." and that "these noises had been idenitfied as loud music playing and yelling both inside and outside of the apartment late in the evening" "The police were called and a report had been filed on us..as well as a complaint put in our records here"
I was floored to say the least.

My husband and I both called the office and spoke with the manager but she would not back down...she INSITED that since more than one neighbor said it was us ..well then it must be true...even though when they had sent out the police..no one could hear a thing coming from our apartment...
I WAS SO MAD AND UPSET that I felt like I was having a stroke...I started crying and shaking and couldn't stop.
It was "the LAST STRAW" with Westlake. The same "new" neighbor that called on us has his bedroom conecting to our bedroom..he use to bang on the wall because he thougt my TV was too loud...it wasn't even us..we were asleep and he would wake us up.

My husband and I are in our LATE 50's..we go to bed at eight because he has to get up at three in the morning to start getting ready for work. I have a health condition and spend alot of time in bed.
THEY KNOW THIS IN THE OFFICE!!!

Getting back to the noise situation ... within a couple of days the "bugle player" started again and the same neighbor called the office to report "us"..so they sent people down right away ..and guess what...the noise was coming from THE THIRD FLOOR..WE LIVE ON THE SECOND FLOOR!! Plus it wasn't even above us...it was above the next door neighbor that was doing all the complaining about us!!!

Anyway when they had called the police a few days before the police put OUR name and apartment number on the POLICE REPORT and the manager here at Westlake said she was sorry but she couldn't do anything about it. The manager had sent us a letter saying she was 'so sorry' about the mix up and what good tenants we were and she'll remove the complaints from our file... Well that doesn't get our name off of the police report!!!

We've NEVER had any trouble with the police in our lives ..my husband has a job that requires secret security clearance and this could affect his job!!! But...the apartments are ' SO SORRY..."!! There have been other things in the last year that we've been putting up with and not complaining to the office about (way too many to put on here.)

But this is it...put a fork in me I'm done! I feel like I'm in a prison...my nerves are shot.I keep thinking the police will start banging on our door in the middle of the night. I've been jumping at every sound I hear. I start crying at the drop of a hat. Westlake wins...I'm a true basket case.

My husband and I are going to break the lease next month and move out early. ..it's either that or I'll end up in the hospital.
We've already found a Town house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full basement. Covered parking...patio..etc.
We've put down our deposit and told them all about what happen here. We told them that we have to break our lease with Westlake Greens. They did their credit check and called us the same day to say we had the Town House.

The best part about moving to a townhome is that no one will be living above or below us.. its in a REALLY nice neighborhood and the price is only $197 more a month than we are paying for this one bedroom apartment we're in now!!!!!

So if you want to gamble about living someplace ..go ahead and rent here..there will be an opening of a one bedroom at the end of Feb. 2008. And hey..if you have a bugle you'll fit right in..maybe bring a drumset''

I completely agree with you about the managment being stupid. We signed our lease on 3/7/7 and they say that we have to pay rent until 3/31/8 even though we only signed a 12 month lease. Anytime we have complained about noise they have told us to call the police and they are so rude about it. When we call security about our neighbor making too much noise they just retaliate and call on us, even though usually my kids are sleeping and the tv isn't on...they security bangs on the door, waking everyone up and upsetting my kids. I hate this place, I am also breaking my lease on 3/7/8 so there will be a 3 bedroom open then too!!!

A little dramatic, don't you think? It does not make any sense that you are blaming the complex for the police report, or for the noise. If you lived in a house who would you call if the neighbor was making noise? The police. When you move into an apartment you know that you are going to be surounded by people, so noise is always going to be a factor.

I agree with the comment above. If you have lived there that long you must have liked the place. You said management apologized for their mistake and took the complaint out of the file, they cant do anything about someone else calling the police on you.
