I just mistakenly signed another lease with The Crest. I have had a leaky window for over a year, and I have called maintenance several times throughout the past year about it. They have all said that there is nothing that they can do about it. The maintenance call center has better service than the maintenance guys themselves. I have often gotten the runaround from management, saying that they need to get more money to fix the windows, and they don't know how long that will take.

Supposedly there are 15 windows that look like mine, and five that are even worse! I really wish I'd moved when I had the chance. I just didn't realize that it would be THIS long before my problem got fixed. All they did was take pictures, scrape the peeling paint, and call it a day. Forget putting up any drapes -- they'll get ruined. My carpet is already stained.

And speaking of carpet, the carpet was not replaced before I moved in. The unit was also not properly cleaned. There were dirty door handles, splashes of diarrhea on the underside of the toilet, and stains on the carpet. They offered to have someone to "freshen up" the place, but by then, I already had all my furniture in there and had meticulously cleaned the place myself. Upon hearing my complaint, they offered NO refund or discount on my move-in fees!

Also, the plumbing is poor. The hot water runs gray before becoming somewhat clear. My bath water always has a grayish tint to it, which makes me very nervous...

There is always trash in the halls, trash on the property, overflowing trash bins, etc... The buildings themselves look nice on the outside, but the overall upkeep is poor.

Parking SUCKS!!! They tow the cars that park in the handicap spots, but where else are we supposed to park'' And why do we need to enforce those spots anyway' The apartment complex has no elevators!! Can a handicapped person make it up the stairs' Makes no sense...

They also need to do a better job of keeping up the grounds with the snow and ice. I have slipped several times on the ice, since they don't put salt or gravel on the cement. Plowing doesn't happen on a regular basis. The snow is allowed to pile up and melt enough to make ice later on. I really feel for the tenants who have children.

The leasing staff is always very nice when I go in there to pay my rent, but when I have a problem, they say things like, "Well, when you signed a lease with us again, all we can assume is that you're happy." I find that to be very rude. They should show more concern, rather than making comments that disregard their tenants' complaints.

Don't move here, unless this is an improvement on where you've lived before. Since they have increased my rent to beyond $1000, even with all the complaints, this will be my last year at The Crest.
