I hate living here. I have lived at the Crest for 2 years. During those 2 years there have been close to 5 different management companies, dont know why. With each management company came new rules, each rule took away 1 or more cool things that initially made this place attractive. Seems like the the one managing now has been here the longest, and they are the worse. The leasing office ladies are fake -------. I avoid them at all costs. I swear it is their goal to make resident's lives more difficult.
Some things to think about before moving into the Crest.
1. Moving out fees. I moved out after 2 years of living there. Apartment was in great shape. I have moved out of 4 apartments in the past and gotten full deposit back. This time I was charged over 2500.00 in fees. Carpet was in good shape, not new when i moved in, pry 3 years old, plus 2 years i lived on it, had normal wear n tear. Was charged 1500 for carpet!!! Left 1 frozen pizza in the freezer on accident when i moved out and was charged 65 dollar fee for not cleaning the freezer. Like I said the leasing office ladies and management team are ----'s and take their ------ low paying job way too seriously.
1. Having a cat or dog will cost you tons of money. 300.00 non refundable pet deposit, 200.00 refundable pet fee, though I dont know anybody that has moved out and gotten any of that back. Plus 25.00 a month pet fee per pet. They claim the 25.00 monthly fee is for paying to have doggy doo doo bags provided to pet owners in the lil crapping parks, however 25.00 a month times the many dog owners would provide enough doo doo bags for the entire city of Denver. Then, the 300.00 no refundable pet deposit, is for the same thing they said. So you will pay in 1 year, 600 dollars per pet to have them supply dog doo doo bags for you. Sound like a good deal' NO!
2. Pool rules are lame. Can only have 2 friends over at any given time, in the pool area or even in my house. If you have a pet, then you cannot have a friend over with his pet, lease violation and have been threatened to be kicked out for it!Also the hottub is broken 99% of the time, leasing office excuse is "somebody broke it, we are waiting for a part". Lame.
3. Get caught with your dog not on a leash, even if you are just letting him run from the car to your apartment at midnight when you get home, you will get yelled at by one of the many fat ------- that work in leasing office and also live here in the apartments. These girls have no life, other than living and working for Crest apartments.
4. Walls are very thin. I have had neighbors come over and ask to turn down my tv when im watching a movie multiple times. One time I didnt even have my surround sound on, just the tv volume, not loud at all. I was so tired of the neighbors coming to complain that I asked the neighbor to come in and listen to how loud the tv was, because it certainly is not very loud and was ridiculous he keeps coming to complain about it. He said "yes, wow, that isnt loud at all, sorry". At that point we knew the walls are thin and if you like watching movies with surround sound or having social events with music, this is not the place to live.
5. If you move in, BE DAMN SURE you are gonna live there throughout your entire lease. To break a lease at the Crest costs:
a) 2 months notice = 2 extra months of living there
b) 2 months rent on top of that ( if you decide to leave June 1st and its may, you have to give 60 days notice, plus 2 months rent = 4 months rent total.
c) you have to pay back the "concession" for every month you lived there since you moved in. I pay 1100 for a 900 sq foot apartment. They claim market value for my place is 1500 a month. But they are so nice they give me a "recession" discount. So if you lived here 4 months and need to break lease, you will have to pay 400 recession fee back, for 4 months = 1600. For me to break my lease was going to cost me over 6 thousand dollars =absolutely ridiculous.
6. The lies. I was told pool was open 24/7/365. I like the idea of swimming in a heated pool in the winter when its snowing, like when i stay at a hotel in breckenridge in the winter. They changed that rule shortly after i moved in. They have been working to fix the security gate since i moved in. They gave me a fob that will open the security gates when i moved in, however the gates have been wide open since. I would not have moved in if i knew this, I drive a BMW and like the idea of a security gate protecting my car and apartment.
7 Parking sucks. If you get home after 7 pm, you have to park far from your apartment. Many ppl have 2 cars and just let the 2nd car sit in a close spot parked permanently. So you leave your nice parking spot u got at 6 pm for grocery store, come back and you are walking far.
BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY FROM CREST APARTMENTS
In conclusion, there are far better apartments in the area.
