Yo!

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!

After reading some comments here, I must agree that this is not the best place to live in Longmont at all. I am not a disgruntled tenant here. I just expect a reasonable place to live, and for the staff to listen to and address my concerns. Here's what I have to say. It may be a bit long, but please read if you are seriously considering living here.

1. The heat, at least in a 3 bedroom, is horrible. The master bedroom, which is closest to the annoyingly loud heating system, was always cold in the Winter. The other bedrooms were very hot. I had to ask the staff numerous times to take a look at it, and after my 4th complaint, someone finally came by. They didn't do anything except close some of the vents in the living room to help direct the flow of air toward the master bedroom. They even told me the heater is the same size in the 3 bedroom as in the 2 bedroom, despite the fact that the 3 bedroom is a larger space. I ended up buying a space heater for the bedroom and driving up both my gas bill and electric bill at the same time. Very inefficient, and costly.

2. The staff doesn't listen to your concerns with any care. They are the friendliest people in the world when they're trying to sell you a apartment. Once they have you, don't expect them to take care of you if you have a major problem. I had to ask many times for maintenance requests. When I had a problem with some construction they were doing on my apartment for 2 months, they didn't care. Just don't expect much from them. If you don't have any problems, or reasons to talk to the staff, you'll do OK here.

3. Do not get a ground floor unit. The layer between the floor and ceiling is so thin. I hear phones ringing, sounds of the TV, blenders from the kitchen...all from the people upstairs. Anytime they walk around up there, it's like a herd of elephants. They'll tell you they have 3 inch thick concrete between the layers. I'm telling you from experience, it doesn't do anything unless you have people who walk lightly above you.

4. The management company sent a survey to all guests one year. I responded with honest opinions of my experience here. The survey said at the bottom that it was confidential and only the management company would see my comments, not any of the staff at the Legacy. I got a phone call from the manager of the Legacy a week later saying her boss contacted her about my comments. So much for confidentiality. The good thing about that was that the staff finally started listening to my concerns after I complained, and her boss (at Team Asset Management in Florida) was upset with her. But, they didn't listen to me at all about my complaints until the big guns came down.

5. Staff turnover is horrible. Don't get too attached to your leasing agent, or any other staff. They fly in and out of here like the wind every 3-6 months.

6. Gym closes frequently due to "incidents". People steal equipment and they close the gym to investigate all the time.

7. Snow removal is horrible on the shady spots. In the winter, the snow melts in the day and turns to ice. The shady spots of the road in the complex end up very slippery. I fell a few times walking around the complex in the Winter.

8. You will be MILKED for everything you have upon check-out. They don't tell you this when you sign the lease, but you MUST professionally clean the carpets when you vacate. This costs YOU $80 . If you don't do it, they charge you and do it themselves. Everything must be SPOTLESS when you move out. Even the slightest of dust on the blinds will cause them to charge you. It's rediculous. Don't expect to get much back from your deposit.

All in all, this has been a bad experience for me. I will not live here any longer as of August 2005, and do not plan on ever returning. P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS
