DO NOT RENT FROM OVERLOOK
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 11/21/2006
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I lived at Overlook for 3 months after I moved from another state and subletted for the remainder of another's lease. I originally thought I was going to be staying there and resign but then had to relocate again for work. I never resigned anything but they drew up the lease for me. When I gave them my notice I would not be resigning they claimed that since they already drew me up a new lease that I was bound to it. I ended up having to pay market value for my apt which was 990 and staying an extra month having to commute to the springs. When I had a subletter who was willing to sign for 7 months with Shores they refused saying they would need to do cleaning and he could not move in for another week after I was out.
The apt was cleaner when I left than when I arrived. They are still trying to withold my deposit and have given me no notice of why or evidence of a walk-through.
They tried to bind me to a lease that I never signed. Apparently apartments like this think if they draw you up a lease it doesn't matter if you don't sign.
Whatever. I tell all my friends these people are more interested in ripping you off than making it work.
