I have lived at Overlook at the Shores since June, 2006 and will move out at the end of February, 2007 because we just bought a house. In my experience:

Pros of living here:
-Great value - we got a good deal on the rent and pay $730 for a 2 bedroom. It is spacious and has a great kitchen.

-Near green space and McIntosh Lake. At the corner of Lake Park Way and Horizon Parkway (2 min walk) is a nice green space where we can let our puppy run around on a long leash. McIntosh Lake (5 min walk at most) has a great trail around it where we have taken our puppy and went for nice walks. Also, there is a swingset and playground not far down the trail.

-Great neighborhood. Lake Park Way is a nice residential street.

-Repairs quickly done. Anytime we had something in need of repair, it was repaired within 2 days.

-Friendly and approachable office staff. Any dealings with the ladies at the office has gone very well. Also, when a package of bakery came from my mom in Ohio, they put it in the fridge just because it said "perishable" on the side. They are truly caring and courteous.

Cons of living here:
-Poor plowing in winter weather. After the recent storms, the parking lot is still a mess! Trying to leave the parking lot has simply been a disaster if you have a small car with low clearance. Often, cars have gotten stuck coming out or going into a parking space. Thankfully, neighbors here have really banded together to help each other deal with the poor driveway conditions.

-The air conditioner is out on the balcony, so you do not have too much space on it. We can only fit our small grill and 1 small chair. Also, we are on the 2nd floor, and the 3rd floor air conditioner above drips on our balcony, so you have to be careful where to place your chair(s).

-Many dog owners do not pick up after their dogs - so you have to be careful where you walk on the grass!

I know I looked on this site when I was searching for apartments, and I hope that this helps you in your decision-making process.
