The "something @ someplace" name change should have been a tip off.

I've lived in this complex for almost 4 years now. It used to be a decent place to live, good management, clean grounds, nice neighbors, all the sort of things you look for in an apartment. Since the new management took over, the place has really slid, which is kinda odd considering that their stated intent is to renovate the entire complex to make it nicer. The grounds cleanliness has deteriorated somewhat, even though it's the same nice maintenance guys. Really seems to reflect the attitude of the new management.

I'm paying $710 for a 1 bed loft, which is reasonable considering the area. The increase for a renovated unit isn't outrageous and not a deal killer. However, the demeanor of the management might be. I went into the office to drop off my rent check last month, and there was a teenage girl at the desk with her 3 hoodlum boyfriends sitting on the couches acting tough. Please. Have some professionalism, and don't make me wonder where the routing and account number off my rent check are going.

I probably won't be moving into a renovated unit when my lease is up. Which is a shame because overall I like living here, liked it enough to stay for almost 4 years.
