Moved out 1 month before new management took over

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I lived at the Overlook at the Shores for 3 years and made the difficult decision of leaving them to move into the more expensive and newer Shores apartments next door. I say it was difficult because I truly loved the old managers. I once found a lost cat and decided to let him stay at my place until I could find his people. After 1 week of looking for his owner, I took him to the humane society. No one claimed him so I took him back home. During this whole ordeal, Peggy took the liberty of putting up fliers with his picture and even called some of the residents to see if they lost a cat. When I brought him back from the humane society, the managers were so sympathetic, they gave me $100 off the pet deposit. I was impressed. Most apartment managers would not have even let me keep the cat for a day without a deposit let alone put up fliers.
They were always so helpful and handled things according to their urgency which I thought was fair.
I'm sorry to hear that the new management does not live up to the good reputation The Overlook had. I must say, the new red, orange, green, beige color scheme is an eyesore. It makes me physically ill to look at the colors everyday. (i am right next door)
If the new management is trying to make these into luxury apartments like ones I now live in. I say HA! Not a chance. While it WAS a great community, the apartments were not THAT great. They were nice and all but I don't think any amount of granite counter tops and new cabinets will make them "LUXURY APARTMENTS". Maybe add a jet tub and we'll think about it. There is a fireplace, but a shack in the woods could have that.
And the horrible, sickening color scheme just screams "let's copy Prospect".
(for those of you who are not local, Prospect is a pseudo-town just south of Longmont. They think it's a town but what it really is is just a designer trailer park and it's even more expensive than Boulder with the cheapest living situation starting at $300,000. That gets you a living room/bedroom, kitchen and small bathroom. Prospect uses the same hideous red, orange, puke green and beige color scheme that The Circle at the Shores has vandalized the hood with)
The managers and maintenance made The Overlook at the Shores a pleasant place to live. The apartments were old but well kept.
If the new management is as bad as everyone says it is, pay a little extra and move to The Shores instead.
