RUNAWAY! THESE APARTMENTS ARE CRAP!
Not only is Grand View at Flatirons one of the most poorly managed places I've ever lived at but the image of the property being "upscale" is a complete farse. Other reviewers ask for details, so here you go.
I won't say that the girls (and they are girls) in the office aren't nice, but they lack any sort of remedial office or accounting skills. You can't ask a simple question. You never get a straight answer. And there was a huge calamity when they double signed me and another person to a lease. Management tried to bully me out of my signed lease to remedy their mistake, and didn't accept responsibility for their lack of organization and record keeping. They would like me to stay for the bargain price of $844 a month (7 whole dollars off their current price and a 20% increase!).
Before move in, I wasn't allowed to see the actual apartment. Apparently they couldn't ready it when promised before my "holding" deposit became nonrefundable. I was assured it was just like the model, but instead of a beige color scheme, the apartment was a hideous pink. Pink tile, pinkish carpet, pink countertops. To add to that, the kitchen cupboards don't match and are peeling, there are gouges in the linoleum, gouges in the fridge, the knobs are missing from the stove, the wall patching looks like it was done by a 3 year old with play doh, the fireplace tiles were ungrouted, the apartment was only partially cleaned, there were grease piles on the porch from a bbq grill, and piles (lots and lots of piles) of dog crap in the front yard. That was just the first day.
There have been a slew of maintenance issues as well. Sometimes the office crew puts them through and sometimes you have to remind them 3-4 times. And the maintenance man is a handy-man not a trained professional. He is fairly quick to respond but does a shoddy job. It took them 3 months to replace the lock on my front sliding door. And a month to get the toilet to quit running (and wasting billable water). Water pressure is a contant battle, my sinks leak and the dishwasher doesn't work. There's always something.
As for the community features. . . The pool was often closed over the summer, the business center is often inaccessible since nobody is ever in the office, the manager is never around, bums go through the dumpsters, and the laundry facility is filthy (I mean, hasn't been cleaned in a year, sticky counters, trash, crud on the windows, smells like urine, don't drop anything on the floor filthy).
Everything looks nice on the surface of this place but that's as far as it goes. They're priced to compete with the higher class apartments in the area but fall way short in quality and comparison. This place was a low income establishment and it still is. They're simply charging more to live here.

Wo, you seem to be a very unhappy person. Too bad for you. The maintenance guys you refer to have always done a great job and a very professional job. I'm sure the nice ladies that work in the office would be glad to know they are girls. If I have ever had any questions about my account they were able to explain everything to my satisfaction. Yes the manager is not always there because she works at the corporate office too. All you have to do is contact her by email or call her at her other office.

I would have to say that websites like apartmentratings.com are an unreliable source when searching for a new place to live. I have been looking through the diffrent ratings of apartments in louisville and in my opinion it looks like the only time people make a comment on their experience is if it ended up being a bad one.Anywhere that you choose to live will have its issues unless it is a brand new place thats never been lived in, and even when the maintnance isnt an issue the staff can still be an issue. I would suggest checking out the place for yourself and decide if it is the right place for you rather than going directly off other peoples complaints. Genrally if someone enjoyed their stay at a place they will not waste their time commenting on it on web sites like this one.

I have been very happy with maintenance since I moved in a year ago and the women in the office, one of whom is now the manager, have always been able to answer questions about my account. It helps if you ask nicely instead of having an attitude. I have had lots of problems with my upstairs neighbors and the office staff has really tried to help with the issues. They ask about the issues every month when I pay my rent. They call me by name when they see me, as do the maintenance guys. I just wish there were garages instead of carports.

The girls in the office are undependable, irresponsible, and irrational. Anybody who says nice thing about the girls, the maintenance guys, or the apartment are either working for Grand view corp. or the girls themselves. Don't trust (Grand view) you be sorry.

I really love your comment. I actually am the community manager and I do appreciate all of the positive feedback my residents and prospective residents have posted. I can assure you that I nor have my staff ever posted a response or a comment on here pretending to be anyone else. I have to say our community has been around since 1989 and to have so few complaints compared to others in the area, we have a great community with great residents.
