Good place. Close to Boulder with non of the trashy university apartments

I moved here my first year after college. This place is amazing compared to the nasty apartments where I lived in Boulder. Much nice than anything available there, and you are still 15 minutes away by car.
It is true, they will not let you see the apartment before you move in. They will not even show you the floor plan. That is a definite disadvantage. I signed a lease for a 970 sqf apartment, only to find out that a 100 sqf staircase and 150sqf worth of patios (2) are counted as part of the total. That was definetly disappointing. THey do have a 30 day guarantee. You can move out of the apartment if you do not like it without lease penalties. On the other hand, who will ever want to go through the moving process twice in one month.
There is a horrid parking situation. If you have more than one car in the household, there is no way you will find any parking. Your only solution is to get an attached garage. Then at least you can use the drive way. If your garage is not attached, you are going to park at safeway 1/4 mile away.
The neighborhood is not safe. It looks all nice, but the lighting is horrid. I have not heard of any violence, but my neighbor did have his car stolen 3 weeks ago. According to him (he lived there for 3 years), this is a regular occurance. 5 cars stolen in the last couple of years. There seem to be police cruisers parked on the street at least once a month. I am male, so I dont really care.
I have not had any problems with the administration or maintenance yet. The only issue is that we cannot get copies of the mail key to work. Tried 4 times now, and only the original functions right. They have fixed A/C for us on the day we moved in. The only real complaint I have is about the noise in the plumbing. It gets rather loud when the upstairs neighbro decides to take showers at 1am.
If you can put up with all this, this is a good place. The community center is amazing. The gym is better than any I have seen in apartments anywhere else. And I get the lake view.
