Apathetic Management Ruins a Good Thing

We love the location, the amenities, and the staff at the community center.

But for all that we spend on rent (too much) we would expect to not have parked cars block our garage door, management to do something about this consistent problem, have a place to park our second car (and perhaps room for the occasional guest to park), not have to clear snow from common areas (steps and walkways) ourselves, and not have garbage bins and litter strewn all over the place.

It quickly becomes apparent that all of their effort goes into putting on a good show to get you entangled in a lease. From there, they are relying upon your own apathy to keep you around(despite large rent hikes).

I was shocked to find that my wife signed a lease that specifically allows management to seize your property at any time without notice. Of course, you are not provided a copy of the lease until the day before your move-in date. Highly unethical, in my opinion. But hey, I'm just the customer...

Similar to other reviewers, we have had staff enter our apartment with neither authorization or notice on at least one occasion ("oops, wrong unit/building" - yeah, right). "Move in" condition included paint over-spray on mirrors, fixtures, door knobs, counters, appliances, windows - everything, everywhere. Clearly, no work is inspected.

Unlike other reviewers, we have no complaints about the few rough sections in the pavement. That is to be expected during the winter, reasonable repairs are made, and if you are driving at appropriate speeds it is a non-issue.

If management would simply enforce two of their rules, it would be a big improvement:
1) Garages are to be used for parking vehicles
2) Trash bins are to be stored in the garages

But then, others would just complain that they should have the freedom to inconvenience everyone else to be able to do what they want.
