Nothing but problems

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008

I lived here 2003-04 and nothing really was wrong with that apartment, so I had no idea what I would have to deal with when having to work with the management.

I just moved here June of 2008. From the beginning, doors in the apt wouldn't close, no one could open the front door even when unlocked, kitchen faucet leaked really bad, toilet wouldn't stop running, dishwasher sounded like a semi was driving through the apt, vents smelled like cat poop and cat food(i don't have a pet), linoleum at the front door had paint all over it, cigarette burns all over the carpet, and about a week after moving in, all the stains from previous renters resurfaced out of the carpet.

Management does their best to avoid doing any repairs. I pestered them about everything until something was done. They sent out a maint guy to fix the doors. He didn't know what he was doing, cut himself and got blood all over the carpet. All he could say was "Oops". They sent the same person back to fix the faucet, it leaked at least 10 times faster by the time he left. He said he'd have to order another part for it and it would take a week. He is the one who is suppose to know how to fix things and said to me exactly "That leak isn't that bad, right'" Duh! Toilet still runs constantly. Maintenance told me to run the dishwasher for a week so it could relubricate after telling them that it sounded like a big piece of metal was grinding somewhere in it. Finally they came back again and agreed that it needed a new motor. That got installed two weeks later. They had to work on it outside, so pulled it through the living room and a stream of water followed them with it. That led to a portion of some of the stains resurfacing. The vents started to smell wierd and they said to put bleach down all of my drains. I don't know where they get these guys. My carpets are supposed to get cleaned pretty soon, but for all I know they will look just as bad again in a week. Oh yeah I didn't mention that my husband cleans carpets and did a really good job on trying himself to get the stains gone. They came back anyway, so the real culprit is the pad. They refuse to believe that so I will just them see for themselves that the cleaning just isn't doing the trick.

These apartments are notorious for getting tagged by gangs. So if you want to live somewhere that looks nice and not scary, PLEASE DO NOT RENT HERE! The only area of this place that looks okay is right outside the office. There is trash and cigarette butts everywhere. Another review here is right, everything is falling apart.

I have a neighbor right upstairs. The ceiling in his bathroom looks like it is going to cave in at any minute. And instead of repairing it, the management said they would reduce his rent. That's real safe! If something happens to my kids because of their neglegence, I will have them in court so fast. As soon as my lease is up I am out of here. This place should be condemned.
