"Boo Who.....Poor baby..." You just figured out that apartment rental companies are in business to make a profit...Just like every other business on the planet? Sounds like you have way to much free time on your hands to sit around looking for problems....You want to appreciate your apartment for what it is? Try going down to 23rd and Lawrence so nite, any nite and see what it is really like to be the working poor with no apartment (assuming that you have a job). I lived in your apartment complex back when the Columbine High School tradgy happened in(1998/99?). Yes, it is not the Ritz-Carlton, but then it was not ment to be. Apartments are for one thing, a place to keep limited belongings, get some sleep, grab a shower and get back to work. Aplace to go between jobs while you are trying to come up with enough money and income to buy YOUR OWN HOME and realize the AMERICAN DREAM, not sit around on your butt with no/low income and complain cuz you can not afford a better life! Get off you butt and get another job or two or three jobs if you need to!! How bad do you want a better life!!?? Or are you to damn lazy to do anything about it except ----- and moan and want people to feel sorry for you?! Your parents are not offering to let you move home? GEE- I can't understand for the life of me why............GROW UP-GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT AND FIX YOUR SORRY LIFE AND QUIT CRYING LIKE A BABY, you don't even know how good you have it!!!!

listen here you ignorant ---- retentive idiot!!! An apartment is a place where every person should feel safe and at home, what youre talking about is a hotel....duh, dip, as for your remark about going out and getting two or three jobs my husband and I have three jobs between the two of us and sometimes its not possible for us to live the "american dream" as you stated, we were looking to move into the village of yorkshire but am VERY glad that I found this site, truths are always hidden until its too late and a person is stuck such as the one that wrote the letter you responded too, and for your information the people on 23rd and Lawrence are not working class poor they are homeless, mentally ill or drug addicted people that are not capable of working, how sad that the lower class people have to live the way they do and put up with dumb ass comments like yours

As far as the asbestos thing goes, you are at very low risk! very few floor tiles contain asbestos, its the mastic under the tiles that seldom contain. they are non-friable, meaning you would have to continually take a sledge hammer or saw to the mastic for the asbestos fibers to become airborne. the acustical ceilings on the otherhand are friable but it would take some major disturbance{demolition) for the fibers to become airborne. Realistily you would breath more asbestos on the street corner(old brake pads in old vehicles/ specially ordered brake pads, for there indurance contain large amounts of asbestos) or walking in to an old building(much older than 1972) because of the real dangerous asbestos that has been accumilating above ceilings from very friable pipe insulation and fire retardent. stop worrying, ITS EVERYWHERE still. HUD Homes are not rich, they cant afford the $12,000 it would take to consult, inspect, sample and remove the asbestos from your little tiny apartment. REALLY its that expensive, all the regulations on asbestos make it a very time consuming and expensive indeavour. in reality, fiberglass is just as dangerous. asbestos is a natural forming mineral(rock) and fiberglass is, you guessed it, glass. when you breath in any inorganic fibers they become inlodged in your lungs forever, forming scar tissue that will kill you in many years(they cant put a time frame on it, cause nobody knows how much it takes) most diseases take from 20-50 years, and thats from reaseach on people the mixed or applied large amounts of asbestos a long time ago. In short, your chances of forming a disease from the asbestos in buildings are as good as you winning the lottery(then you could pay twice as much for a house that has no asbestos) cause I have never seen a building without asbestos. you can still buy asbestos containing products at Home depot... we as americans live and thrive on fear and Hey, everything can kill you right?

Nice return comments. I especially liked the quality asbestos information. Too bad I could not count on the management here to be that knowledgeable. Currently it's cheaper to buy than to rent! Quit surfing price pumping rentals and go buy instead!!! Unless you like the abuse. By the way, poster #1. Floating through an apartment does not mean one is unemployed. We only have it good, if the people around us, also are flourishing. Otherwise we are part of the problem, not the solution. Thanks for nothing though.
