Cherrywood Village
< | >
I was referred to Cherrywood Village by my employer, who is/was on the "Preferred Employer" list. AFter calling and checking availability on a 1 bedroom I was told that they had 1 available for immediate move in, so I went down to check it out.
After arriving and viewing the place, I decided I wanted it. I filled out the application and after she checked it out she then told me that the apartment wasn't actually available until 6 days later, as opposed to immediately, which she told me again while I was looking at it. She then tells me that my employer is no longer on the "Preferred Employer" list and had not been for 3 months, so I would have to pay the $35 application fee, no biggie, and a $150 administrative fee. Being shocked by this, what seemed to be a lie because my companies name was on the sheet located at the front door, I asked what the administrative fee was for. She replied "To process the application, this is a lot of paperwork." I laughed and said "Isn't that what I paid an application fee for'" She shrugged it off and I told her nevermind.
In my opinion, this place tries to Nickle and Dime you with no reasonable explanation as to their fees purpose. Give me a reason for a $150 administration fee, not one that makes no sense since you charge $35 to process the application already.
