It's all about your attitude

Although I've experienced some of the negatives posted by other reviewers I would still recommend this place. Yes, sometimes the trash area is a mess. Once one person decides to leave their trash outside of the compactor, the next person thinks it's not working and leaves their bag there too. So I just open it up and throw in their's with mine. Sure it's not my job to pick up after other people but it's all about your attitude. I'd rather know I did something to help out the neighbors coming to the compactor after me.
Parking, yup it's a pain! But if I know I have company coming over I also know parking may be a problem for them. So if I can't get my car into the garage I'll put it in one of the few open spaces and then my driveway is open for my guests.
Gloria the Community Manager - Yes she sometimes does act clueless...but I'm not so sure it's actually an act.
Dog poop - There are many dogs in the complex. I spend a lot of time on my patio and I always see people picking up after their dogs. But I also see a lot of evidence of those who don't. I noticed that on Fridays they have someone going around with a pooper scooper to clean it all up so it is manageable.
Thin walls - My apartment is two stories so I don't have anyone living above or below me. However when new people move in next door I expect to hear banging around and hammering of nails as they get settled in. I also expet them to be respectful of "quiet times." If they're not I don't have a problem politely asking them to be a bit more considerate. It doesn't always help but it usually does. I know that when I have friends over they can probably hear me too due to the thin walls so I may annoy them at times too. People have lives, sometimes they are noisy lives.
Rent increases - I'm about to resign my lease and my rent is only going up $20 a month and a friend of mine renewed her's and had the same increase. If you have anykind of move in special your increase is going to be based on market value and not what your currently paying. That's normal.
The planes - I got used to them. You live near an airport. What did you expect'
Maintenance Staff - I haven't had a problem with them. When a pipe burst in an apartment next door and flooded my downstairs they got the water out and replaced the carpet and padding in a relatively short amount of time. It didn't happen as quickly as I would have liked but you can get concrete to dry out only so fast.
All in all I think it's a good place to live. It seems most of the complaints against the complex are due to other residents. If you don't want so many people around you don't move into an apartment community. Buy a house, rent a house, rent an apartment in a small building. This is apartment living. It's not always glamerous but you have to expect to find annoying people no matter where you go. That's a part of life.

TRY GOING WITHOUT ANY HEAT FOR TWO MONTHS WITH NO COMPENSATION. My guess is you are either the Manager or someone from Simpson trying to excuse how you treat people. I talked to someone at the mailbox that I did not know at all and they said their roof was leaking for two weeks. Well I have not met many people in this complex, but the one person that I surprizingly met had serious maintenece and helath issues like I did. Also, I am sure you recieved the survey THERE IS THERE FOR A REASON THIS MANAGEMENT IS JACKED. YOU SHOULD REALLY READ THE COMMENTS ON HERE BECAUSE IT IS NOT ABOUT THE PEOPLE ITS ABOUT LIVING IN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT WITH HEAT AND MAINTENENCE WHO ACTUALLY DOES THINGS BESIDES NOTHING

I have to say that I really love my apartment. When I moved in from a home I expected that I would encounter noise and no privacy but what I did was make sure that I moved into an area that I could live in without too many apartments attached to my bedroom as I am a light sleeper. I have encountered the additional charges that were not brought up at the time of my application but the charges are reasonable and fit within my budget. I have had some maintenance issues that have been addressed immediately that should have been handled before my move in but things happen no one is perfect. The only problem that I have complained about si the one dog that jumped on my 5 yr old granddaughter then jumped on me in my garage one morning on my way to work, this I did complain about as the dog needs to be on a leash. but other than that I love coming home every day after work and enjoying my apartment. P.S. you are correct Gloria is clueless and not it is not an act.
