Too much criminal activity

Until recently, things weren't so bad here. Other than too many rules, that are either not enforced (trash, dog poop everywhere, partying going on at all times of day or night) or are just plain ridiculous (no beverages whatsoever poolside - yes that includes water so I suppose we can just all dehydrate), plus hard to find parking during the evening I wasn't too unhappy. However, in the last 6 weeks or so alone, just in the buildings surrounding mine, there were drug raids, a stabbing/slashing (fun to wake up in the early morning hours with crime scene tape surrounding your building), and just this past weekend a sex assault (prominently shown on Fox News). Beer and other alcohol bottles everywhere on weekends, loud screaming everywhere, etc. I don't even want to know what is going on at the other end of the complex. Way too many young people moving in (no it is not so much the teenagers or little kids or the Section 8 tenants that pose problems, but the 20somethings partying). It is getting a little more than scary to live here with children, or even being out alone later in the evening as a woman. And I'm not easily scared! I've not had a problem with maintenance myself, usually my calls have been answered quickly and repairs made with little delay, but I've heard from others that they had problems getting things fixed (such as a prolonged power outage). Every time I complained about noisy neighbors I've been told to call the courtesy patrol - but clearly with all the recent violence she's way over her head so I will call the Parker Police in the future. The apartments have a decent layout, but as many others stated, windows may be hard to open/close, you can hear your neighbors turn over in their beds, and there are not enough parking spaces. Also, unless you get to move into an apartment with new carpet, expect worn/stained carpeting, and there are also issues with cabinets etc (drawer bottoms are not glued in so move and let things fall down etc).
Overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone with children to move in here.
