This is a bit of a long story, but I feel that it is important enough to tell. First of all, my husband and I have lived in Indigo Creek for only about 2 months, and we already can't wait to leave. We love the apartment and the neighbors, but unfortunately the cruel, rude, heartless staff has made this place completely not worth the experience.

Over Labor Day weekend, I suffered a miscarriage and had to spend the whole weekend in the hospital. Needless to say, the last thing on our minds was paying our rent. We also figured that with Monday being a holiday, te office would be closed anyway, and that if anyone in the office had any sense of compassion whatsoever as human beings, they would be understanding of our situation and cut us some slack just this once. Unfortunately, such was not the case.

On our way home from the hospital (September 4th), we stopped by the Leasing Office to drop off our rent check. We were met by an extremely miserable Sarah (the fat blonde woman) who looked at the check, raised an eyebrow, and sarcastically remarked "Where's the late fee'" Like I said, we had only lived here a couple months, had turned in both previous payments on time and thought she would show a little decency. I told her that I had been in the hospital all weekend and that we figured they had been closed for the holiday. She immediately snapped, "NO! WE WERE OPEN YESTERDAY! IF YOU HAD PAID ON TIME YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT!" She then rolled her eyes and went back to Mishara, the joke of a financial manager , and I heard her loudly whisper "These people can't pay on time and want special treatment." How rude can you get' Well, I was hoping Mishara would at least be more polite. But instead, she also rolled her eyes, came out of her office and said, "You need to read your lease. There's a $50 late fee if we get the check on the 4th of the month or later. It's all black and white. You need to come up with the money in a week. I don't want a red mark on my books. You're lucky I didn't send out late notices yet" We were completely stunned! And what REALLY got to me was the look on Sarah's face as she stood in the background. She was smirking. Absoolutely repulsive.

We ended up trying to call Wasatch Property Management, the corporate management, and after several phone messages, we have not received any response whatsoever. My point here is not about the money, we paid the $50 late fee after all because we don't feel these miserable people are worth our time. My point is that the staff here do nothing but grub for money. They will blow smoke up your ass when you come to look at an apartment, tell you all about how they are committed to customer service, and they will even print in their stupid newsletters about how "we are so happy to have you here!" Don't fall for it! Please don't make the same mistake! Now, even I get the occasional bout of PMS, but these women seem to have it permanently! I just hope someday karma comes back to get them, and that someday when they are truly in need of some compassion, someone slams the door in their faces as well.

Wow! That's horrible! I've had some bad experiences with Indigo Creek as mentioned in my post, but yours takes the cake. I'm very sorry for your loss! I hope the written account of your experience is a siren for all people who are looking for an apartment in the Thornton area!!
