From the moment we put our $100 hold down, we started having problems. We should have just forfeited the $100 and moved on, but we were excited about overlooking the lake. Our apartment was going to be at the back of the complex and looking directly at the lake- we hoped it would be the quietest.
From day one, we started discovering that we had false promises - maybe little things but they were important to us -such as using OUR washing machine & dryer. We were told that we could use our machines. We have a new expensive set and didn't want to put that in storage. It took many conversations, pushing, etc to let us use ours but then we were told we would have to store theirs. We found some friends that agreed to let us use a corner of their garage - when we moved in we mentioned it to the maintenance and they moved them out so that they wouldn't leave the grounds.
The carpet had been cleaned but with in 2 days the spots and stains returned. They offered to clean again - but it was obvious the stains were in the carpet. It took 1 month for them to agree to replace the carpet (after we had moved in). So we lived in boxes the first month - moved EVERYTHING in the hallway so they could install the carpet and new laminate. The carpet of course is the cheapest carpet possible - which shedds for months and you can see the jute easiely between the fibers. Luxury apartment'
The porch was caked with pigeon droppings which took about 2 weeks to clean (again having to my plants, etc). The hallways are stained from everyones trash. We were told by one of the staff that we were allowed to set our trash out for a very little bit -for an example if we were cleaning and gathering trash and were heading down stairs shortly. We had two neighbors that PILED trash for days, when we complained a notice was even given to us - our trash had been outside for 25 minutes as we WERE cleaning our place and hadn't run to the trash yet.
The front door was obviously broken into at one time and someone had getto fixed it (I could have done better). That took 2 months to finish, including getting locked in our apartment because the lock froze (even though we told them two days earlier) finally getting a peep hole, finish the painting and only after a Notice to Terminate was issued.
We were excited to let our daughter use the pool, etc. We were so disappointed that we only went once. The pool (when we looked at the place) was supposed to be a year round pool but it was so cold we could barely stand it - even after a 100 degree day. Besides the mosquites were so bad you couldn't stay in. Maybe if the pool had been heated the bugs would be attracted so much to our body heat.
We are still waiting to have the key to use our fireplace. We gave up on our dish washer working well - when it cycles the water ends up on the counter if we don't run the garbage disposal.
My biggest issue is that we found that only after repeated reminders, complaints, etc we got things done. I HATE having to deal with people that way.

We wanted to use our washer and dryer too and they told us to store theirs somewhere. So we put theirs in one of the rooms and it is such an eye sore to look at and takes up a lot of space. So much for having three bedrooms.
The pool and spa are ridiculous. It is never clean and freezing cold. I really hope that they are losing potential renters because they don't seem to care about making anyone happy.
