Don't Move Here!

I lived in these apartments for 1 year and moved out as soon as my lease was up. Since these are income restricted apartments, you can imagine what kind of people your neighbors will be. A lot of drug addicts, dealers, and A LOT of abusive parents. I called 911 an obscene amount of times while living here, either people of the couple below me physically fighting, people beating their kids, or loud parties that broke out in fights. The police are usually somewhere in the parking lot throughout the night anyhow. Once I called Social Services to report child abuse and they found huge amounts of meth and ended up evicting the tenants the next day. It is not safe, especially if you have children. They make look nice, but research what kind of tenants typically live there before you sign a lease anywhere!
Parking was horrible as well. There are so few spaces that if you got home after 5pm, all the spots closest to your door were full, mostly because of people having guests, so you'd have to park all the way at the other end and walk through the snow and the ice, since they don't put enough salt on the sidewalks to your door. The walls in this place are very thin, you can hear everything that goes on in your neighbors apartment, especially people stomping around above you.
The management and the tenants never pick up their dog poop so it is just left everywhere. When my heater went out when I first moved there, it took them 4 months to replace it, and I was without heat.

"Income restricted" does not mean that people with qualifying incomes beat their kids or their spouses. It is unfortunate that someone would have the ignorance to make that statement- and it's pretty stupid since they obviously lived here- what does that say about them? "Income restricted", in this case, means that this is a tax-credit community, and CHFA sets the income guidelines and rents. As a resident here, I am confident to say that the quality of living in this community is comfortable and I'm happy to be here.
