I was able to find somebody to lease my apartment from me. Waterford managagement gave me a date to move out. I did this. So, I didn't break my lease per se, they said if I found a renter that was moving in, no problem. Well, I've been gone from Waterford for over a YEAR and low and behold, I get a notice from a collection agency, stating that I owe back rent. I get a hold of management at Waterford and was told that the tenant that was to move into my apartment, postponed and couldn't move into my apartment, when they were SUPPOSED to , so guess whom gets stuck with a bill for nearly half-month's rent' ME!! They failed to mail me any notice of this at all, until 14 months later, I get a collection agency that sent me a notice to new address. Shame on you Waterford, I would very much like to call Tom Martino and tell him of your shameless business practices.

Hate to break it to you but unfortunately you are responsible for this money. I went through the same thing, not at Waterford though. Found someone to live in my spot for the remainder of my lease. Even though I moved out, I was responsible for the mess the new tenant left behind. You as the lease signer are responsible for that unit...Waterford didn't do anything wrong sad to say.
