You don't want to live here!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
We have lived here for almost two years. We renewed our lease once, only out of the need to rent one more year before we bought a house.
We were one of the first ones on our block to move in. It was quiet and peaceful since there was basically no one around. Needless to say, we thought we'd found a diamond in the ruff. This place is anything but. The walls are SO thin- you hear everything! People going up and down the stairs, kids yelling, your neighbor's TV blaring, everything!! I am constantly being woken up by our neighbor either closing their bedroom closet door or slamming their dresser drawers. Ridiculous!
This is just the beginning of the problems. The music coming from cars is an absolute joke!!!! The stupid teenagers or college students partying and yelling at each other are a MAJOR problem. How the hell do they afford to live here' We thought that by choosing a more expensive community we would live with a higher class or people - boy we were wrong!! We actually witnessed a townhome on our street being raided for growing marijuana!! The police brought down an entire pickup truck full of lighting and growing supplies. I don't even think the people in that townhome got kicked out of the complex!
It would be so nice to be able to leave our windows open to enjoy the fresh spring air but with all of the noise going on you can't relax or get a solid night's sleep if you don't close them. After numerous calls to the office staff, I feel like nothing has been done, EVER! The maintenance staff is EXTREMELY unaccomadating and only makes repairs during business hours. What if you work during business hours''''
(We also had the problem with our pilot light but it only went out once before they repaired it).
The landscaping is boring and unsightly, and the lawn does not get cut frequently enough. The dog poop used to be a real problem but has gotten better, although with the grass staying so long I would imagine it will get worse again since it's hard to find it! We have a dog and we always clean up after him. The grass is nasty though, I try my best never to step in it.
The streets are way too narrow, I'm glad they finally wised up and made one side of the street a Fire Lane in case there's ever a... Fire!!! The tall buildings trap all of the sound and that allows everyone to hear every little noise around them. There are far too many people living here who are completely inconsiderate of everyone living around them. The 15% of people who are noisy and rude ruin it for the 85% who are considerate and respectful.
Overall, we can't wait to get out of here!!!!
With such a great area around these rentals it's a real shame they aren't better managed. I WOULD NOT recommend these apartments or row homes to anyone, especially not to people with children!
