We have been living at the Estates at Tanglewood for a year now, and we have had nothing but trouble. The trash situation is ridiculous. The management recently stopped the valet trash service, but residents continue to leave the trash out in the first floor breezeway. We happen to live right by there and can smell the trash at all times. When we notify the management, their comments are if it bothers you, you can take it to the trash yourself.

The parking situation is ridiculous. We always have to park on the street as there is never any parking after 6:00 in the evening.

The insulation in the apartments is so bad, that we end up paying about $200/month in heating and electric for a 1 bedroom apartment. This may be due to the fact that the water heaters are outside the apartment!!

These apartments are also not safe. There recently was an armed robbery. The management refuses to put cameras as they say they do not want to be liable.

Equipment for the gym keeps getting stolen, which the management never replaces. Residents at numerous times have warned the management about alarms going off in the gym area, and there is no attention paid to this.

Snow removal is also a nightmare.

We cannot wait to move out of this dump!

Yeah, I live here too and am not happy about the trash service. I've called about garbage being left out in my building but that's because some people who live here are lazy. And they've never told me to take it myself, they always sent the guys to get it. Parking is tough too but I pay for a carport because it's tight by my building (actually we pay for three of them.) -- I'm not sure what's up with your electric bill but you should call xcel. We live in a 2 bedroom and pay an average of $88/month for gas and electric.

I don't agree with that statement, I live here too and the staff is amazing when I call them and have issues they send maintenance right out and they are very appologetic. It's not their fault there are messy neighbors. The complex is only four years old so that heating is not plausable to me. Have you called them? They have always come to fix my heat within half an hour....weird.

I also live in a one bedroom apartment and our electric bill was 200 last month. I thought that was insane and called Xcel to see if they had read my meter wrong...but they didn't. In fact, Xcel told me that our 200 dollar bill was actually less than what the previous tenants had paid last year...seems crazy that a bill can be that high for a ONE bedroom apartment. I also agree on the parking. We can NEVER find parking and always have to park at least one of our cars on the street. There are about half as many spaces as there needs to be. The valet trash was something that the apartment complex really stressed as a high point of living here when we were given a tour...and then not too long after we moved in it was cancelled and now we have to walk all the way to the dumpster to get rid of it. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move here.

I've been in and out of there numerous times. I am planning on moving there soon, and have talked for long periods with the staff there. The issue with the heat, is indeed that the water heaters are located outside of the apartment. The "Breckenridge" is the only 1 bedroom with the water heater inside the apartment. Just a thought.

I also had issues with an astronomical heating bill this winter. I called the office to ask what could be causing it (after finding out from Xcel the last tenant's bills were significantly lower last winter). Mark was very professional and actually cared about the problem; he sent maintenance to my apt promptly to investigate. After a few maintenance investigations, they determined the problem, and fixed it, my next bill was dramatically lower. Mark was prompt and caring, something that is rare when you are a renter. The apartments are great, my friends always say they are jealous of the kitchen. It's also quiet and in a great area - I think they are a great value! Parking is the only downfall - limited open spots.

My husband and I have been living here since March of this year and so far are quite happy. Our heat/AC bills seem to be about average for a newer community. I haven't noticed much of a trash problem at our building but any time we've had to call the office for maintenance, they have been very nice and addressed it VERY fast. Parking is pretty easy in front of our building until around 9:00 PM. Sometimes we have to park on the street if we get in late but that will happen no matter where you go if you're not paying for reserved parking. When people post their complaints on here like a laundry list of horrific happenings, I really wonder where they're used to living. Being in an apartment is not like living in a home. There will be problems. But all in all, I think the staff here handles things professionally. I've never been overwhelmed by energetic greatings when I show up at the office but I have NEVER been treated badly either.
