Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
My apartment was halfway 'remodeled' the kitchen had been remodeled to be modern; however, the bathrooms were both left to the 'old-way.' I was told upon moving in that they too would be updated -they never were. The carpet from the start was beat up and had obvious wear marks and heavy traffic areas were worn so thin that you had to step over door jams in order to not be stuck by the tack board underneath. I told the staff and wrote it in my eval of the apartment prior to moving in, again, nothing was done. There was a hole punched in the back of the master bedroom door, I told the staff and noted it in the eval, how was it fixed' it was painted over. A hole in the door is still a hole in the door, now with white paint. The closet 'shelves' were wire shelving, that continually came out of the wall because they were never anchored into the dry wall. there were obvious holes in the trim, where instead of fixing the trim, caulking was jammed in.
The office staff tried their best to helpful, was the impression I got, but it never solved any problems.
The 'gym' by my apartment a;ways had some form of faulty equipment, and was 'under construction' for weeks. the pool was always padlocked shut due to maintenance or broken glass.
I have had a horrible mouse infestation since the first month of moving in, i am a super clean person, and so was my apartment. I take excellent care of my suede leather furniture and my oak furniture. I really had a distaste for watching mice run under them constantly - i put in a work request, which resulted in having Terminix show up to place traps. I lived with giant steel colored mouse traps throughout my apartment for about one month in order to let them have a chance and let the traps work. The traps did not work, the mice instead went around the traps and continued through the apartment. I told management, and in return I was advised it was because I of the location of my apartment. So, it was made to sound like it was my fault that I paid $1,000.00/month rent (with a garage) to live with mice, because I chose the wrong apartment to live in.
Daily, through the summer I was greet be copious amounts of bird poop through the hallways, because the birds nested in the covered hallways on the fire sprinklers.
This is disgusting, I will post this explanation of why I rate the Estates at Tanglewood so poorly on every apartment website I can find, along with a dissatisfied score, in order to prevent others from being suckered into a one year lease of misery.
