Our experience at the Village was good on some points and bad on others. My biggest complaint is the lack of parking in areas that are close to the apartment. The cost for parking near the building in which we lived in was $45 for a carport space (though there weren't any available) and $90 for a garage attached to the building (Of which none were available). Our only choice for parking was to park on the opposite side of the complex (on 112th). It usually took about 5 minutes to walk across the courtyard between where we parked and where we lived. However, if you came home after 7pm, you had to park 10 minutes from your apartment. (Our building was on the southeast corner) The parking situation was absolutely atrocious, and one of the main reasons we moved away. I also didn't care for the location. The complex is across the street from Front Range Cmmty College and 112th was a nightmare to get out of the complex in the mornings because of the traffic. I have waited at least 10 minutes to get out on several occasions. And also everything that you need is really far away. Over a 10 minute drive to Hwy 36 and a 15 minute drive to I-25. It just felt like it took forever to get there and back daily. I also did not care for the management staff. We did have an incident with one of our neighbors and the woman who was the manager seemed to be a personal friend of the gentleman who we had a problem with. We were on the top floor and our kitchen had an island which acted like a sound amplifier to the apartment below. Instead of trying to help us solve the problem, she told us that it was our problem and that we needed to just deal with it. I can happily say that she is no longer working there, and the new woman who is working there is tactful and nice, and actually listens and works towards solving problems.

I did love the inside of my apartment. The floor plan was spacious and the layout was very nice. The only thing I didn't like was the laundry being in the middle of the hallway, because our laundry always got piled up there making it difficult to get to the restroom... but that is our problem. The Maintenance staff is always on site 7 days a week, they keep the grounds clean, and they are very friendly. They always say hello to you as you are driving around or taking out your trash. And also when they come in to fix problems they are usually taken care of quickly and done correctly the first time. I did ask the staff to fix the lights which were out above our door for 2 months.... but I don't think the manager ever let them know to fix it. Not the fault of the maintenance people if they don't know it is happening.

Also, no policy for handling annoying dogs. There is also no weight limit on the dogs. I was nearly knocked over because people don't keep their dogs on leashes and they are BIG and FRIENDLY! There was a dog that had moved in a few weeks before we moved out that was a noise problem, and even though there had been complaints, there really wasn't much being done.
