From management and maintenance to parking, this complex, now called Kipling Village, proves to be even of a lesser quality than most public housing "projects" in the Denver Metro Area.
Most management act very arrogant towards the residents. Rude and uncaring. Or there is the language barrier, as often, English is the minority language.
The water is off every other day, it seems and in a year has been off nearly 25 times. Most of the time without notice. Once I was already in the shower when the water was turned off.
Maintenance as a whole is very sub-standard. The look of the buildings is shabby. They do not clean the common areas. Trash everywhere.
Something is always broken and without repair. Even the lawn sprinkler control box, with its' higher voltage electric supply line is open and wires exposed. The control box is only about 4 inces above ground and can be easily accessed by a baby or small toddler.
Parking is a nightmare. Often cars get dumped on this property. There are cars leaking fluids here. Cars with flat tires, expired tags, etc... They have parking "rules" and make everyone had permits in the windows, yet no enforcement is made to keep cars without permits away from the spaces that are marked for residents. They have a no-tow policy.
Eventhough only cats are supposed to be on the property, there are still dogs everywhere and no one pays any attention to it. There is dog mess in the grass and kids play in that area!
No one enforces the rules on the property. No security patrol. No safety enforcement for residents. I have been ran down by kids on bicycles on the sidewalks. Even if posted that it's prohibited.
The Wheat Ridge police are on the property for one thing or another at least one time a day. NOT KIDDING! It is common to see detectives walking around about once a week looking for someone. The police even issued a community notice because oif the amount of calls they have here.
Final word: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You can find public housing in the most crime infested neighborhoods that are nicer and better kept.
