I was spoiled from spending the semester before at Cedar Ridge Apartments which I found extremely clean and the business respectably run. Perry Hills was a farther drive from campus and what we saved on rent we spent in gas mileage. The bathroom lights were dim from being painted over by the cleaners before we moved in. The cable and internet upstairs didn't work. The bathroom focets leaked and the apartment was overall dingy. ALSO, the apartments are apparently situated right in the path of ladybug migrations because the infestation was unbearable. I wouldn't consider myself scared of bugs in general, but there were literally thousands of them that swarmed the apartment in the fall and it was impossible to keep up with the infiltration. We were constantly fighting the New England Realty group for charges that were not ours, after the first few that (which naiivly we didn't question) we had to continually remind them that they were mischarging us (and never got credit from what we had wrongly had to pay). ALSO, from the very beginning we were nervous of the area as we were informed AFTER signing the lease that someone had been breaking into our uninhabited apartment to live in it during the summer. It was nice to enter the apartment and see the lovely NO TRESPASSING signs posted in our windows, (very comforting decorations) . . . There are "laundry facilitys" in each building in the extremely unclean and dingy basement (no windows and the lights rarely worked) I traveled down there one time and lasted no more than a minute before I told myself I would never use something so dirty to "clean" things - GROSS. The hill is nearly impossible to negotiate during the winter months and there was one storm where leaving the apartment was out of the question as the plow didn't come until the next day.
