Unique living space in a boring town

The layout, landscaping, and amenities of the complex are very impressive, and there is a sense of 'value' somewhat when you take gym membership/pool into consideration, but, the rent is fairly high.
Noise: keep in mind, these structures are brick, and face each other. But it could be worse. Keep your windows closed and you're safe for the most part, if you want your phone conversions contained.
Office: when they are out showing the property, you get the useless answering service, just hang up and keep calling back until you get someone from the office.
Maintenance: in less than 1 year I've had over 10 service requests, one involving the wiring has been open for almost a month. 2 reminder phone calls to the office and a message with the answering service, and the work still isn't done yet.
Bugs: being these structures are brick, I do notice lots of creepy crawlies. But one work order request was handled very promptly.
Community: I found the other tenants very friendly and professional. Not many kids, most tenants are 30-something year old yuppies.
Town: Yawn. 2 pizza joints, a general store. You have to go to New Haven or Waterbury for nightlife. Grocery stores are ample, but each is a 10-15 minute drive away.
The other residents of the town seem to be blue-collar type mountain hicks. Some of the local business people remain quite unfriendly, even after being a familiar face for over a year.
