Thought we had found a gem for the first year that we were living in BMV. What a neat way to take an old historic building and turn it into upscale apartments. We had a 1BR loft on the 3rd/4th floors. Before we moved in, the entire apt was re-finished with insulated wall on the window side, new carpet, new kitchen (cabinets/appliences/floors) and new bathroom. Sleepy town but close to the train station and good for commuting. Loved the access to gym/tennis couts/pool. Yes, the walls were thin, but the people next to us were fairly quiet (our luck, I guess). ... Then, after a year we decided to buy a house and move out. We told BMV that we would not be renewing our lease. At the same time, it appeared the management team was changing. The office hours became inconvenient(no weekends, open 10 till 5 on weekdays... uh, when we were at work). And we couldn't just leave a message off-hours... there was an annoying answering service that would answer "Beacon Mill Village" and would proceed to ask your address (including street/town)... uh, don't you know where BMV is'' It was during this time that we'd get home from work with messages asking to show our apt... the NEXT DAY. But we couldn't call them back and talk to them directly cause the office was closed. So we'd have to call the answering service... tell them we live in Beacon Falls, 2 N Main St (again) and say, sure you could show our apt. Then there was the day that we got home from work and the 10am TimeStamped message said... sorry for the short notice... but we'd like to show your apt TODAY... and without us calling them back... they DID! Now, we are out of BMV and it seems just in time with the new management. But wait... there's more. You know that "secured entry" buzzer.. well it is still hooked up to our home phone number. So we are getting calls at our new HOME (including last night at 3AM) with people trying to get into BMV. Nice security... maybe we should have just let them in'
At least we got our deposit back.
