HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED

The staff at this building, specifically the leasing office staff, are horrid. I have never met people as rude and unprofessional as they are. I have lived here for several years and it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to help or fix any problems. One of our appliances was broken and it took them 3 YEARS to finally get us a new one and then it was one they had taken from another apartment that had been refurnished. One laundry room on the property so forget doing laundry on a weekend...no one leaves this building, EVER. So you can forget finding parking anywhere near the building if you arrive home after 5pm. There is a hole in my bathroom ceiling from a leak that occurred in the apt. above me that they have not fixed in 3yrs. Black mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom which they "fixed" by wiping it with bleach which they used from me, didn't even bring their own. It took multiple months and phone calls to the police to get a noisy neighbor evicted, and noisy is putting it politely. Another thing is it says the place is a non smoking community except that the guy downstairs smokes in his apartment and it comes right through the floor. The poor cat smells like an ashtray if he sits too close to the wall behind the couch. the maintenance staff is very nice but not thourough. If it snows and you leave for work early...be very, very careful it's slippery b/c they don't put salt or sand down until business hours...and god help us that business hours for the leasing staff are whenever they decide to show up for work or if they decide to even stay for their full shift. 95% of the time if they say they close at 5pm they are gone before 4:30 and the time they are there, usually phones are forwarded to the answering service. with the apartments as big as they are it's hard to keep them warm in the winter...the large windows are beautiful but not good at all for keeping in the heat. Also if you need lightbulbs changed or a clogged drain they tell you not to do it yourself and to call maintenance. Waste of time...just buy drano! Overall, this building is beautiful, historic, but I would not choose to live here again knowing how you are treated as a resident. You pay a lot of money for nothing.
