I found this apartment complex from a site over the internet and was very impressed by how it looked. When I met with the leasing staff they all seemed very pleasant and welcoming. However afer having moved in I have become unhappy. I happen to work nights so I need my sleep during the day, which is very hard to comeby as they constantly have their landscapers working hours a day basically every weekday mowing the lawn right outside my window (does it really take 5 hours to mow a lawn)' The ceilings must not be very thick because I can hear things going on downstairs (I'm on the top floor), so I wonder how much of what I do they can hear. I also don't know about the neighbors next door since I'm a corner unit and my bedroom isn't near any neighbors. Inspections are also a pain as well...like I said I work at night and so I sleep during the day. Basically inspections are where the maitnenence staff enter your apartment when you're not there, or at least not supposed to be there, and take care of smoke detectors and such. Well there was this whole thing with the leasing office where they freaked out because my lock (like a hotel lock) was in place (because I didn't want anyone entering), and they repeatedly called my apartment to try to get in. So basically in the end I felt like a prisoner in a place that is supposed to be my home. Suffice to say I am moving out of state (I have never been happy in Connecticut), and hope to be much happier elsewhere.
I guess I might as well list some pros though:
They do package service, so if you need to have a package signed for the leasing office will sign for you (unless the delivery person doesn't bring it to them)
Pool, fitness center, business center are all nice and part of your rent (aka you don't need to pay for membership)
Parking is good if you happen to get a garage (though it is more per month), but the garages are heated and some contain storage. Parking spaces that aren't a garage are first come first serve.
Pet-friendly community (one of the main reasons why I moved here)
Pretty quiet at night, nice safe area.
