Lived here for 3 years. I will definitely say that under the old management - Bozutto - it was a dream to live here and was worth the money. In early 08, it was taken over by a new greedy management company that just wanted to fill as many units as possible and didn't care about it's tenants and the warm community that had been there. Under the old management there was a clause that no college kids could live there. This was great - it was quiet, well kept, neighbors were respectful, the pool was relaxing. It truly was an enjoyable place to live. Most people were mid 30s. I saw a huge change - now college kids live there, there are parties late at night. There are now more kids, whereas before I think there were one or two. Now it seems like mommy and daddy are just paying for their college kids to live there - there is no more respect for the property. Maintenance is worse because they are overextended. The apts are nice inside but you pay an extra 50 bucks for a fireplace or a bathtub, or for living on the second floor, or for whatever they can think of - so don't be fooled when you sign a lease - cause it will be 200 dollars more than advertised. They raise the rent 9% per year which is outrageous and why I moved - it was cheaper to have a mortgage. Unfortuanately CT has a lot of old housing and apts. One of the reasons I liked the Hawthorne so much is because it was built in 03 so the units are efficient and bug and mold free. Well - my advice to you is take this place with a grain of salt - it is nice place to live, but the new management seems to have a huge money agenda.
