I rented an apartment from them and was disappointed with the run-down condition of the building and the lack of attention to cosmetics. I rented the apartment after a divorce and was frankly limited in funds for quite a while -- otherwise, I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. The management sees no need in replacing carpets, painting regularly, landscaping or doing any of the things that make rental properties pleasant. You shouldn't have to deal with run-down and outdated in order to get affordable. The appliances in the units are outdated, and, for example, if your stove has 3 out of the 4 burners inoperable, to the management, the stove "still works" and they won't send someone out to fix it. Likewise with the refigerators. There could be water dripping into the crisper, and to them, if the inside of the fridge is cold, it works fine. The two girls (they are very young) who function as the on-site management are very rude and unprofessional. As a businessperson, there is no way I would employ them on my staff. The management in Newington should "mystery shop" the office by posing as a tenant with an issue and see what treatment they get. Having said that, most of the residents in my building were cool, friendly people (mostly young ESPNers and a few retirees). If you can deal with run-down and don't need to deal with the management girls, you might like it there.
