Beautiful wood floors; poor water & snow removal; filthy common areas

The real problem with these apartments is the water. They are not connected to pulic water and so the water is often dirty. Also, you often run out of water. I bought bottled water to drink the whole time I was there. Even the super, who lives in one of the apartments, buys his drinking water.
The apartments are troubled with excessive heat. Each building has 16 townhouses connected together but only 1 of them has a thermostat. The tenant in the apartment with the thermostat controls the heat for the entire building. My neighbors and I get our windows open all year round. It was not unusual to have the door open in the winter to reduce the tempature.
The management does not do a good job of shoveling the snow. So it is sometimes dangerous to walk to your car or to take the garbage to the dumpster. The management seldom uses sand or salt on the sidewalks.
The common areas are filty, including the laundry room. Some windows in the common area (in the basement) that lead to the laundry room are missing and unscreened. Therefore, you have lots of spiders in your basement. But if they replaced the broken windows, the stench in the basement would be worse.
