The first few times I went to visit Woodcliff before renting, it looked nice enough. It was Quiet, clean, somewhere I could live; or so I thought. The first night I was there, I realized I had made a big mistake. I was told 2 things to make me rent there. Both turned out to be lies. One was when I told my leasing agent (Doreen) that I was hesitant to rent a 2nd floor apartment, for fear of being bothered by the noise of my upstairs neighbor. She responded "Theses apartments are VERY well insulated. We haven't had any complaints." Well, I don't know about you, but hearing full conversations, every footstep, the phone ringing, and even SNORING from upstairs does NOT contitute "well insulated" in my book. The second was in response to my hesitation to live in the apartment closest to the stairs. I was told "It's very quiet. You can't hear any noise from the stairs." Well, I wish that were the case. As I found out the first night, you can hear everything that's going on in the stairwell, only it's amplified given the acoustics of the stairwell itself. As if that weren't enough, the door to the stairs would slam shut loud enough to wake me up from a sound sleep. It took 9 requests over a period of 6 months to finally get that issue resolved. That's about 8 requests and 5 and 1/2 months too long, as far as I'm concerned. On top of all this, I feel I need to mention that my girlfriend feels less than safe when going outside by herself. There is much yelling, loud music, and general obnoxious behavior displayed by many of the occupants of the complex. If this is your style, then Woodcliff Estates is for you! As for me, I think I'm going to pay the money to get out of my lease early.
