Not perfect, but still a nice place

Some of the previous complaints are true. The thermostats are lousy. They are at least 5 degrees off (put on 75 to get 70, etc.) and if you live on the ground floor you will get bugs coming in during the warm months (especially catepillars, ants and the occasional cricket that gets into the baseboard radiators). Office management turnover is quite frequent, too. I'm not too sure the walls are paper thin, but the ceilings certainly are. Many times I could hear the TV upstairs (sometimes distinguish what show was on too), and tenants upstairs sound like elephants when they walk.

The views and the carport are what I like best about The Summit. I especially appreciate that carport during the winter while other folks have to dig out their cars after a snowstorm. The galley kitchen is nice and the rooms are large. Sitting on the terrace admiring the views is my favorite pastime. You can see the planes land a Robertson Airport a few miles away.

Best of all, it is in a strategic location for commuters convenient to I-84. Now if only the rents would stabilize (sometimes they go up $50 each year).

The area is very secluded with only one entrance in and out of The Summit. The apartments are just above the base of Rattlesnake Mountain, and sometimes turkeys come down the mountain and walk around.

They do plenty of exterior upgrades. Last year they upgraded all the front terraces. This year they upgraded all the outside starcases. The parking lot could use repaving and the apartment windows certainly need upgrading (they are not energy efficent and not all of them lock).

However, the benefits outweigh the negative aspects of living here, so I recommend the place. It's a halfway decent place to live.
