i will be moving in by the end of this month.
i have been in real estate management for over 10 years and i can tell you that handling issues with management is easy.
if the services offered as enticment to lease are not what is received, it is a violation of the lease regardless of the services specifically being in the lease.
management making a verbal commitment of service and standards is binding.
log all complaints in detail, if service is not provided pay your rent to an escrow account and not management.
management will not get the money until a mediator determines that all issues have been resolved.
you can pay into escrow for your entire lease term if necessary.
also, in the state of connecticut you can record/tape a meeting as long as one person present knows that the meeting is being recorded.
this includes the person recording.
i believe aspen glen will be a fine place to live, but if it isnt, there are simple and easy ways to protect yourself from unethical, underpaid inexperienced management.
