Jefferson Arms

Pros: Location is great, elevator, property grounds is neat and clean
Cons: $$$, loudness, insulation, no dishwasher, management treats you terribly when your lease is up
We paid 885 for a 1bed, not bad, but when we moved in it was the winter and although they tell you the building is well insulated -IT'S NOT. Expect to pay 300-400 a month in electricity during the fall/winter. And that electricity bill estimate was when we insolated all three huge windows with plastic and used space heaters. UI said it s cheaper to use the central heat, wrong again, it s not, we tried it and our bill was close to 500, and this is for a 1bed apartment, that amount is the same for a 4 bed 2 level house. And we weren t even home for 10 hrs a day and were using off/on peak rates. During the summer, our bill is around $150. And we have met so many people that have moved out because of this-it s way too high, so you re really paying 1100-1200 for the apt, not worth it, especially when there s so many apts in the area that offer a better value. Another thing, terrible appliances, our fridge is sooo loud all day long. To be honest it s not worth the $$$. I much rather pay more a month in rent and live in a better insulated building &&& where you get more amenities for your money.
It s really really not worth it and just wait and see how they treat you when your lease is up.

p.s. it s not a quiet building to whoever wrote those reviews. You can seriously walk the halls and hear people s conversations, above you-you hear when people use the bathroom etc. And you hear everything on whitney st, remember this apt is near the firestation (you hear that all day long)- so I m not sure who wrote those reviews, my guess is it s management
