Wow... Too many negative things to say about Seramonte.. where do I even begin'
The noise from tenants in the garden style apartments is bad. Music and TV noises pounding all night. The office doesn't really care. The only things the office staff care about is getting their rent, and to keep getting Eric laid by any semi-attractive moving object. He's one of the leasing consultants, who will lie and deny anything he ever said. Sure, the office staff are all smiley and delightful for prospective renters, but once you move in, it's pure hell.
The appliances were all built in 1945, so don't plan on cooking too much. My garbage disposal leaked all over the kitchen floor, but management delayed repairs for months. The bathtub needed replacing badly, but instead of doing the right thing, they painted it... over and over. It was chipping and starting to clog the drain. The heat, which was "free" kept the place just above the freezing point. Parking and snow removal is just awful. It's the kind of place where if someone parks in another's spot, the owner of the spot will block you in. These people are not considerate at all, but since the visitor spots are 1/4 mile away, I guess I can understand somewhat. With the blizzard of Feb 2003, snow was not removed or cleaned for weeks. The dumpsters were always full, and the laundry there was a huge joke! The dryers didn't dry, and the washers were infested with those dirty people's diseases (lice, STD's, etc.). Being on the second floor, the stairs are long, short and narrow. Try moving in or out with those entrance ways. I would speculate that there have been many lawsuits about that alone. Just to make the stairways worse, management didn't feel it necessary to replace lightbulbs. I suppose the tenants need to put their own bulbs in if they want to see how to put the key in their door. As you're trying to find the keyhole, you have to suffer through the smell of other neighbors cooking, which in my case made me almost vomit. That same smell lingers in the stairwells for days, which are rarely maintained. I had to spray air freshener in the stairway or shake carpet deoderizer, just to be able to withstand those god-awful horrendous odors. Once I placed a stick-up there, and management took it down, when they finally came to vacuum over a month later.
The only decent thing about Seramonte is that there was always hot water, which was "free". At least they can do something well.
My advice, after living in different apartment communities for many years, is that you PLEASE do yourself a favor and find another place to live. You will be much happier, trust me!!
