Nightmare worse than imaginable. Read on

Searmonte is a DUMP.
Seramonte is owned by an out of state NY slumlord that has been sued and heavily fined by the U.S.
government for running complexes with leaking roofs, ramapant rat infestation and no heat.
Seramonte itself was cited by the local health department for multiple Health Code violations that were still pending in 2001 due to indoor air pollution, open razor blades left scattered in the corridors and accumulation of garbage inside the building.
Yuck.
In addition, the EPA is pissed at Seramonte because they don't notify tenants when they sand potentially lead paint and they don't tell you about the lead paint when you move in like they're supposed to.
Fines are pending last I heard.
The buildings are badly built with paper thin walls.
I could hear my neighbor sniffle.
I am not lying either.
When my other neighbor took a potty break, I could hear the brownie hit the water.
No privacy at Seramonte.
The mangement is terrible and the manager is -----.
Management does not usually give you notice when they are coming in.
If you complain, they will claim that it was an "emergency repair".
I notified them I was goning on vacation for two weeks.
When I came back to my apartment, my front door was completely unlocked and there was a huge crap in my toilet that wasn't there when I left.
Any repairs are done as cheap and crappy as possible.
My air conditioner leaked half the summer while I waited for them to repair it.
The water coming out made my carpet and subfloor moldy.
They filled the hole with caulk and called it good enough.
It was still leaking when I moved out.
Security deposits will most likely not be returned.
Seramonte refused to give me a signed walkthrough when I moved in.
When I moved out they were going to withhold my entire security deposit, until they found out I had dated pictures of my move in.
They still withheld some money for damage that was there when I moved in.
If you move in, take dated pictures or take photos with a newspaper front page in each one to prove the date or you will not see your deposit.
Utilities are all electric and run on average $70 a month (summer as high as $125) with careful use.
In the summer, second and third floor units are roasting hot.
The power company has a hard time getting the crappy mangement at Seramonte to let them in to read the meters.
My bill had to be estimated about 5 times in 12 months.
Your phone lines are old there and your connection is crackly especially in winter.
This can cause a problem with computer connections.
There is a pool, but the kids in the complex are never supervised and are kind of low class brats.
There is NOT a workout room or any other rec facilities.
Seramonte mangement may tell you it will be finished in a month or two, but I waited from the time I rented it to the time I moved for about two years and it is still not open now nine months after I moved out.
If you want to workout forget it until you see it open with your own eyes.
This is an apartment complex with tight parking lots and too few spaces for most buildings.
Seramonte do not even plow the parking lot at all on some winter days that it snows so you can't easily get out.
The front and other complex steps are often left icy for you to fall on with no de ice pellets for tenants available to use.
The complex gates are almost always broken or inoperative and the doors to the buildings are often left unlocked leaving indoor corridor and basement access open to who knows who.
Laundry in the basement is 2 washers 2 dryers per huge 60 unit building.
It costs $2.50 to wash and another $2.50 to dry.
They do not work well most of the time.
Nothing to recommend this building.
It sucks.
If you are a student or working person, it is not quiet or relazing to come home to.
Don't think that this review is just spite or lies.
Everything discussed is true.
Please save yourself the horridness of Seramonte and try to find a different apartment.
No matter what you may think when you move in, it will not be ok.
People I know that live there now are not happy and they can't wait to move.
They tell me that it is like living a a crack dorm.
Please don't move there because it should be called DUMPamonte not Seramonte!
