What an Incredible DUMP

I am leaving the apartment and breaking my lease 6 months early. I feel that I have a pretty high tolerance for poor living conditions, having spent three years in hot, stuffy, cramped college dorms. I would go back in a heartbeat if it meant getting out of this complete dump.

We have had problems since day one, they told us the wrong apartment number when we moved in, so once we were settled we were told we had to move down the street. One of the big draws for us was that it was gated in and supposedly had a guard house. I've been there more than six months and have yet to see the gates closed once.

My car was vandalized shortly after we moved in, causing over $2000 worth of damage which management shrugged off.

A few months in we opened our closet and water was pouring out of the ceiling. Many of my clothes were ruined, and it took over two weeks for management to finally fix the problem. That means that for two weeks we had no closet and no place to put our clothes, we had absolutely no room and no help from Seramonte. When we requested they pay for the clothes that were damaged they offered $40 for about $400 worth of clothes. Thats not including a Playstation 2 that was in the closet that was destroyed. Unfortunately, when I say they fixed the problem, it really means they painted over the water damage. Within a month we had mold growing out of the walls. Seramonte never offered us a thing to compensate for our trouble. We complained about the mold almost two weeks ago now and we still have yet to hear from them about a resolution.

We have also had just about everything that was ever shipped to us stolen. I havent gotten a single piece of mail because no matter how many times I asked them to, management would never put my name on the res

On top of all the trouble, everyone we spoke with after we signed the lease was absolutely horrible to us. They were put out by our complaints, they were rude, they didnt return phone calls, and were just all around useless.

I cannot wait to get out of here and I wish someone had told me all this before I moved here.

Also, beware of the tenants who dig through the dumpsters everyday and wander the hallways with the garbage. Its like living in a slum.
