Ok, I have just browsed some of the other postings and must say that there seem to be some clear exaggerations.

First let me start by telling you my Clemens Place experience. The building I am in is overall pretty good. I dont ever hear my neighbors. The apt itself is very nice, albeit on the small side, but really more than adequate for a single person or couple. The kitchen overall is pretty good - all the sinks have garbage disposals, and while you might think that this feature is standard, believe it or not, allot of apartments do not have disposal units.

As for parking, I have never had difficulty getting a spot close to my building except when it snows. In those two instances where there was significant snow fall, I had to park a little farther away, but alas that is life sometimes.

At night there are giant rats that stalk the dumpsters, but this is Hartford, and I dont think there is anything that could be done about that.

As for rif-raff in the area' Well again you are going to get that. This is Hartford and whether through mismanagement by city goverment, or others, a ton of the scum in society live in Hartford. Sadly I was disappointed to find out that Clemens Place accepts section 8'ers since it seemed like they put me through the ringer (credit check, income verification, references, etc). I have accepted it though, and for the most part it doesnt bother me. On the plus side, as another poster pointed out, it seems like Clemens Place management sticks certain type of people together so my building is predominantly young professionals, with at least 2 elderly couples living on the second floor.

So this is my two cents. If I could do it again, would I' Probably, but not after doing my due-dilligence first.
