Now "Capital View" Apartments

First off, they are calling themselves "Capital View" apartment now instead of "Morgan at the Park" although some M at the P signs are still up on awnings and doors.

In my opinion, this is a completely average apartment - although it is a little expensive ($1000/ 1 bdr) for what you get.

Parking: indoor availab;e, but for $90/month. Outdoor spots are for $40. I parked outside and there was never any security problem (even though there is no gate for the outdoor lot) nor lack of spaces.

Elevators: are kind of small so bring a large couch in is not going to happen.

Appliances: OLD - needs to be updated. My oven didn't even have a readable temperature know - I had to guess. Frigde was average (ice trays, no dispenser). Also, there seems to be a lack of outlets, so you may end up running extension cords and power adaptors. Electricity (and water) is included in rent, which is nice.
AC is "in-wall" and works fine although I had one unit frost over once. You cannot control the heat, but it never got too hot in the winter.

Noise: Walls/ceilling are pretty thick so I never really had any issues with neighbors, but if you live on the south side of the building, you will be facing I-84. If the traffic noise bothers you, don't live here - especially below the 5th floor. It's typical city noise - police sirens, fire trucks, occasional honking.

I've read many comments on here about rodents and bed bugs. I NEVER encountered this and they have been routine exterminator rounds, so this may not be any issue anymore. I also don't leave trash around, so maybe it's that.

SMELLS: I'm not sure why, but there is a large Indian population in the building. As such, you are going to smell Indian cooking (curry).

GYM: Was renovated with new equipment in June 2009. Fine for small gym although they need disinfectant spray, so people can wipe down equipment after use. Easy fix.

Laundry: 2 washer/ 2 drier on every floor. The driers don't work well and often would take 2 (sometimes 3) runs to get a load dry that would take 1 run on my old drier.
