I was one of the first tenants to move in Park Place Towers, tower A in 1987. The building was still under construction. Lobby area was a still under construction. There were no concierges, at that point. Building management changed several times from 1987 through 1989. A prominent Hartford politician was involved in hiring the property managers. Once they got you signed to a lease and collected the rent, you were just another number.The safety of cars was in question at one point. There was a concierge that was involved in stealing cars. Many of them. Management eventually connected the source and promptly fired him. The air-conditioning has always been controlled by management. Since opening Tower A in 1987. Tower B opened in 1988. Everything was new and looked pretty good---then. Things changed with time and there still good leasing agents and property managers. Like any other business, they do what it takes to keep the income------keeping those apartment leased. Section 8 is even welcomed. There are pros and cons.
